About Ellen DuBois
My name is Ellen DuBois. I am an author and freelance writer, committed to providing informative and well-written articles on tight deadlines. My areas of expertise include: Women's health, inspirational and Christian poetry and essays, self-help articles and books, short stories, essays, novels, fashion, beauty, anxiety, and social justice.
My work has been featured in numerous publications in the past five years both online and in print.
I decided to take the experiences I lived with my detached retina and all that followed, and share it with people in the hope of creating awareness to the value of one's eyesight, and to enlighten people as much as I'm able of life after a detached retina. I want people to be aware of the symptoms, and get help as soon as possible. Twenty years ago, they didn't have the medical technology available today. Things have improved, and if you know what to do in the event of a retinal detachment, your chances for recovery are greater- far greater than mine were. I am one of the lucky people who recovered much of my vision. However, there are scars, literally, because of my retinal detachment and I am dealing with potential new issues twenty-years later. Your eyes are so valuable. My message: Don't ignore them!
Since I began writing, I have had the opportunity to have my own two books published, and to be published in the secular, giftbook, women's health, (anxiety and miscarriage), poetry, greeting card and Christian markets. If you have an area- or issue-specific idea for an article, I would love to share my experiences with your readers through my writing.

The new edition of I Never Held You is now in paperback! The ebook version has been around for about five years, and has been quite successful as women worldwide have ordered it. Now, I've taken I Never Held You to the next level by making the book much longer- including many tools to heal and valuable contributions by people such as Dr. Linda Backman, licensed Psychologist and Grief Counselor. This is a very exciting time for me. My goal is to help as many women and their families get through the painful time after miscarriage. I am confident I Never Held You is the perfect helper.
